There's this guy... he owns a '64 Polara. Picked it up in California. It's in very nice, nearly-original shape. It was repainted years ago, but the steel is as solid as you'll find. It started with a 318 poly head, but the owner felt it was somewhat inadequate. The Polara lost its 318 poly head. Power steering is gone.A fresh 3.55 sure-grip, adjustable pinion snubber, and 3" exhaust hangers are in place. Here you can see a Holley fuel pump and some 1/2" aluminum fuel line. The 505 is installed. It started as a '68 Chrysler 440. It's running factory heads, aluminum cross ram, two AFB's, max wedge exhaust, hydraulic roller cam and MSD ignition. It's got 10:1 static compression. Dyno numbers are 550 horsepower and 650 ft-lbs torque. It makes ridiculous power. At 40 MPH, floor it and the tires break loose. The car still needs to get sorted out - timing, distributor curve, traction, etc but it's already an animal.
